Healing happens when we talk about it.
Life is challenging and unpredictable at times and dealing with difficult emotions and feelings can seem overwhelming and leave you feeling isolated.
Are you here because you are feeling depressed, lonely and empty, making day to day living painful and distressing?
Or perhaps negative thoughts, fear and anxiety is restricting your life and relationships with other people.
You could be experiencing a breakdown in relationships with your partner, family member or friend.
Have you suffered a bereavement and are struggling to deal with the emotions that are overwhelming you?
Sometimes people come to counselling with a feeling of being 'stuck' as unwanted habits are restricting them from being able to live life in the way that they want to.
Are past experiences having a negative impact on the way you are in the world today?
It could be that stress in the workplace or home is very difficult to manage.
Or maybe you would just like a space to reflect, be heard and learn more about yourself so you can move forward being the person you would like to be.
If you are finding life is becoming difficult to manage then I can help you.
Talking to somebody in a safe, confidential environment may enable you to make sense of the things that are troubling you and help you to begin to make positive changes to the way you live your life.
We are living in a time of profound uncertainty and change. Now more than ever it is so important that we look after our mental health and show compassion for ourselves.
Whatever is troubling you, get in touch and you can decide whether counselling can help you.
My name is Amelia and I am a fully qualified, registered member 0f The National Counselling Society.
I work from The Axminster Health and Wellbeing Centre in Axminster, East Devon on the borders of Dorset and Somerset.
I am passionate about the work I do and dedicated to helping people overcome obstacles and challenges so they can go on to lead happier lives that are fulfilled and reach their true potential.
You may be feeling anxious about taking the first step and talking to a counsellor. Yet you have taken the first step already as you are here looking for help and support.
Talking to a trained counsellor may be the way to help you make sense of your problems, make positive changes and move forward in life.
"When we have the courage to walk into our story and own it, we get to
write the ending" Brene Brown.
I aim to provide a safe, supportive, confidential space for you to be able to explore any issues that you may not feel comfortable talking to others about. A place where you can tell your story and be received with compassion and empathy in a non -judgmental, respectful environment..
My role as a counsellor is to walk alongside you on your journey of self -discovery and healing. We can work together collaboratively so you can move forward in life with more confidence, making changes that are meaningful to you. You can gain a greater understanding of who you truly are and how you want to be in the world, develop resilience
and self-confidence. Counselling is a unique opportunity for exploration in a warm, safe space, focusing on yourself and your well -being because you matter.
Face to face appointments take place in a peaceful, private counselling room in the heart of Axminster town centre.
I also offer counselling sessions online via zoom. We can discuss which way works better for you when we have our initial phone consultation.
